Is Handsome Calavera jewelry real silver?
Yes. Everything we sell is genuine .925 sterling silver, solid all the way through, never plated and never hollow. Each piece is stamped 925 and MEX or MEXICO with a registered maker's mark beside it, and the marks are listed in the Product Specs on every product page.
What do the stamps on Mexican silver mean?
925 means 92.5% pure silver, the sterling standard. MEX or MEXICO means the piece was made in México. The letter-and-number code beside them is the registered mark of the maker who stands behind the piece. Three small stamps, and you know the purity, the country and the hand.
Where does your silver come from?
Our jewelry is sourced in Taxco, Guerrero, México. We travel there several times a year, choose every style in person at the silver markets, and bring the pieces home to the United States. Everything we sell is crafted in México and stamped to show it.
Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?
Real silver never turns skin green. That is what plated and fake jewelry does. Sterling can slowly take on a soft patina, which is natural and comes off with a silver cloth in seconds.
Is sterling silver good for sensitive skin?
Our pieces are solid .925 with no plating to wear off, which is what usually causes trouble with costume jewelry. Most people with sensitive skin wear sterling comfortably. If you have a severe metal allergy, check the Product Specs and ask us before you buy.
How do I care for sterling silver?
Wear it. Skin contact slows tarnish, which is why the pieces that never come off stay the brightest. Store it dry, polish with a silver cloth when it dulls, and keep it out of pools and hot tubs. Real silver doesn't wear out. It wears in.
How do I find my Fit and Size?
Fit is the length, Size is the width. Chains run Small (16 to 18.5 in), Medium (19 to 21.5 in) and Large (22 to 24.5 in); bracelets run Small (6.5 to 7 in), Medium (7.25 to 7.75 in) and Large (8 to 8.5 in). The Silver Stacking Guide walks you through both.

You have 30 days to return a piece unworn for a full refund. We can stand behind it that hard because we know exactly what it's made of.

Orders ship from our warehouse in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, the next business day. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
